Letter from Center for Health, Environment and Justice
(CHEJ) director Lois Gibbs. Letter to Kodak CEO Sent out in conjunction with "Learning
Not to Burn," this letter to Kodak CEO Daniel Carp urges him and
his company to examine several alternatives to incineration. Shareholder Vigil: Dismayed
by Kodak's glowing environmental self-evaluation, C.E.C. activists pushed
for accurate disclosure of information to Kodak shareholders. For
there to be any chance of achieving its "Vision of Environmental
Responsibility," Kodak's shareholders must be educated about the
company's environmental record. Statewide Day of Action:
C.E.C. organized this statewide plea for Kodak to clean up its
act. Citizens from Manhattan to Buffalo urged Kodak to phase-out its
incinerators, install new safety equipment, and conduct a comprehensive
study on the health effects of their pollution. Department of Health Press
Hit: C.E.C activists made their way to Kodak's doorstep to urge
the company and the Department of Health to conduct new research on cancer
incidence rates in the vicinity of the corporation's
incinerators. |
